Miami travels to play heated rival Florida State in an afternoon showdown with bowl eligibility in its sights. The Hurricanes edged Georgia Tech 33-30 in Week 10 behind two scores in the fourth quarter to win a third consecutive game. Running back Jaylan Knighton rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Florida State lost 28-14 to No. 16 NC State after allowing Wolfpack quarterback Devin Leary to throw for 314 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Seminoles mustered just 271 total yards and 1.4 yards per carry against one of the ACC’s better defenses to fall to 3-6 with three potential bowl teams left on the schedule.

Miami holds a narrow 35-30 advantage against the Seminoles all-time and has won four straight games. Most recently, then-No. 12 Miami crushed Florida State 52-10 in 2020 behind 332 total yards from former starting quarterback D’Eriq King.

Over that stretch, Miami has won three straight games against NC State, No. 21 Pitt and Georgia Tech.

Johnson leads the ACC with 8 sacks and 17 QB hurries, per Pro Football Focus. For his efforts, Johnson earned a spot on the CBS Sports Midseason All-America team.
