The Central Michigan Chippewas are on the road but looking no worse for wear. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Ball State Cardinals 34-17 three quarters in.

CMU has been led by RB Lew Nichols III, who so far has rushed for three TDs and 188 yards on 25 carries. Nichols III has put himself on the highlight reel with a 66-yard TD scramble in the second quarter.

RB Carson Steele has led the way so far for Ball State, as he has rushed for one TD and 86 yards on 17 carries.

The Cardinals have been used to carrying a lead into the fourth quarter lately, so we’ll see how they respond to the deficit.

The Kent State Golden Flashes typically have all the answers at home, but last week CMU proved too difficult a challenge. CMU put the hurt on Kent State with a sharp 54-30 win. The victory came about thanks to a strong surge after the first quarter to overcome a 14 to nothing deficit. RB Lew Nichols III went supernova for CMU as he rushed for four TDs and 215 yards on 43 carries.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 17-17 at halftime, but the Cardinals were not quite the Northern Illinois Huskies’ equal in the second half when they met last Wednesday.
