Colorado @ No. 19 Utah

Current Records: Colorado 4-7; Utah 8-3

What to Know

The Utah Utes are 5-1 against the Colorado Buffaloes since November of 2015, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Utah and Colorado will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 4 p.m. ET at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The Utes are out to keep their five-game home win streak alive.

Utah took their game against the Oregon Ducks this past Saturday by a conclusive 38-7 score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28 to nothing. It was another big night for Utah’s RB Tavion Thomas, who punched in three rushing touchdowns.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 10-10 at the half for Colorado and the Washington Huskies this past Saturday, but the Buffaloes stepped up in the second half for a 20-17 win. Colorado’s only offensive touchdown came on a rush from QB Brendon Lewis.

The Utes are the favorite in this one, with an expected 23.5-point margin of victory. There could be an interesting gambling play in this one, as they have done quite well against the spread at home this season while Colorado have struggled against the spread on the road.

Utah is now 8-3 while Colorado sits at 4-7. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: Utah is 173rd worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 16 on the season. The Buffaloes have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 210th most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 21 on the season. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
