The South Alabama Jaguars will be returning home after a three-game road trip. The Jaguars and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will face off in a Sun Belt battle at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday at Hancock Whitney Stadium. Coastal Carolina should still be riding high after a win, while South Alabama will be looking to get back in the win column.

South Alabama took a serious blow against the Tennessee Volunteers last week, falling 60-14. South Alabama was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 35-7. A silver lining for them was the play of WR Jalen Tolbert, who caught seven passes for one TD and 143 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Tolbert’s 68-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 14-14 at the half for Coastal Carolina and the Texas State Bobcats last week, but the Chanticleers stepped up in the second half for a 35-21 victory. Coastal Carolina’s QB Grayson McCall was on fire, passing for five TDs and 319 yards on 28 attempts in addition to picking up 53 yards on the ground. Near the top of the highlight reel was McCall’s 52-yard TD bomb to WR Kameron Brown in the third quarter.

The Jaguars have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 15 point spread they are up against. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn’t have high expectations for them since the team is 1-3 ATS when expected to lose.
