Alabama quarterback Bryce Young took home the 2021 Heisman Trophy after leading the Crimson Tide to the College Football Playoff in his first year as the starter in Tuscaloosa. The sophomore signal-caller threw for 4,322 yards and 43 touchdowns against just four interceptions in leading the Tide to an eighth SEC championship under Nick Saban. He beat out the other finalists, Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett for the award.
Young is the fourth Alabama player to win the award — all of which have come since Saban became the Alabama coach in 2007, and Alabama is now the sixth school to have back-to-back Heisman winners.
