The College Football Playoff National Championship is underway on Monday night with one quarter in the books in Indianapolis. No. 1 Alabama holds a 3-0 lead over No. 3 Georgia in the rematch of their SEC title game. The vaunted defense of the Bulldogs got off to a promising start, but quarterback Stetson Bennett and the offense were lagging behind. They picked things up near the end of the first quarter, though, as Bennett connected with wide receiver George Pickens on a beautiful 52-yard completion.

Alabama: Alabama established the tone against Cincinnati with some bully ball on its opening possession, running on 10 straight plays before going to the air for the game’s first touchdown. For a team that did not have an elite rushing attack for much of the season, it was quite a statement.
