College football recruiting: Five-star OL Devon Campbell commits to Texas on 2022 National Signing Day


Texas had already assembled an impressive signing class in coach Steve Sarkisian’s first full recruiting cycle as coach, but the Longhorns put quite an exclamation on it when five-star offensive lineman Devon Campbell announced his commitment to the program on Wednesday. Campbell made the announcement live on CBS Sports HQ, choosing Texas over arch-rival Oklahoma to give the Longhorns their seventh offensive lineman in the class.

Campbell ranks as the No. 9 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. He joins fellow offensive lineman Kelvin Banks as the Longhorns’ two five-star commitments in a class that was ranked No. 5 in the 247Sports Team Rankings entering the day. At 6-3 and 310 pounds, Campbell could potentially play on the interior or at tackle in college.

Campbell has been a multi-sport athlete at Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas, and recently shined in the Under Armour All-American Game.
