Bryce Young projected to be one of CFB’s most clutch performers in 2022

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is heading into his junior season but only has one year under his belt as the true starter for the Crimson Tide. That one season, however, was loaded with achievements.

In that one season, Young won an SEC Championship, led a miraculous comeback in the Iron Bowl, helped his team get to another national title game and won a handful of awards, including the most coveted of them all: The Heisman Trophy.

Bleacher Report’s Morgan Moriarty recognizes this and named Young as one of the few players in college football who is expected to be a clutch performer.

Moriarty mentions the unforgettable come back and subsequent win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl that lasted for four overtimes. As well as the massive performance he put on against Georgia in the SEC Championship game to take down No. 1 UGA and win the title.

Young finished the 2021 season with 66.9% completion, 4,872 yards, 47 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.

Though he has more than one year of eligibility remaining, it is expected that Young will leave any additional eligibility on the table to pursue a career in the NFL.

Young and the Crimson Tide will open the 2022 season at home against Utah State.
