Alabama suspends Agiye Hall: Crimson Tide wide receiver sidelined over violation of team rules

Alabama has been searching for wide receiver replacements after multiple stars from the 2021 season jumped to the next level, but one of the candidates won’t be around for the remainder of spring. Coach Nick Saban said Wednesday that sophomore Agiye Hall has been suspended from the team for violation of team rules.

“He is suspended from the team for violations of some team rules, whether they’re academic or whatever. It doesn’t really matter,” said Saban (via 247Sports). “Everybody has a responsibility and obligation to respect the principles and values and do what they need to do. They’re all there to help them be more successful, so to respect those and do those are always really helpful.”

It doesn’t sound like Hall has much of a chance to return to the Crimson Tide, according to Saban.

“He’s had that opportunity once, so I don’t know what his plans are for the future,” Saban said.

Hall had four catches for 72 yards in seven games as a freshman last season, but those stats don’t tell the entire story. Hall, a 6-foot-3, 195-pounder from Valrico, Florida, showed promise in last year’s spring game, catching four passes for 72 yards. That performance included a spectacular 37-yard catch in double coverage down the left sideline. He was a four-star prospect and the No. 45 overall player in the Class of 2021.

With Hall’s status up in the air, more pressure will fall on junior Traeshon Holden and sophomores Ja’Corey…
